Maisie Williams has finally agreed with critics and admitted Game of Thrones lost its way.
The actress, 25, starred as the fearless Arya Stark from the very first episode of Game of Thrones and was one of the few original characters left standing in the finale.
Despite starting off as one of the greatest shows ever made for many TV scholars, by the end of its eight seasons the fantasy epic became a laughing stock, with rogue coffee cups on full display and its once epic storylines becoming lazy and predictable.
Subsequently a petition demanding the last season was re-written and re-shot amassed more than one million signatures.
More than three years after the finale, Williams has finally managed to sit down and re-watch it all.
Speaking to her brother Talfuin on his Twitch channel, she chuckled: ‘It definitely fell off at the end.’
Still giggling, she insisted that ‘it started really strong.’
‘I was heartbroken when Ned [Stark] died and I knew it was coming,’ she said. ‘For the first time I could really feel the story.
Williams joins the list of several Game of Thrones stars to confess they didn’t love the ending.

Cersei was by far the most poisonous character across the series and was met with an unjustifiably poetic end when King’s Landing caved in on her and her lover Jaime Lannister.
Thankfully, prequel House of The Dragon has so far managed to convince Game of Thrones fans there is plenty of life in the franchise still.
The spin-off, the first of many to come, concluded on Sunday night to rave reviews and another series on the way.
Game of Thrones is available to stream on NOW.
