Coleman was cast as Lenny Wallace in EastEnders in 1996, his first television job.

Lenny first arrived in Albert Square along with his Welsh friend, Huw Edwards, and they were both employed by George Palmer as barmen for the Cobra Club.

Lenny spent the majority of his time drinking, playing poker, and throwing loud parties, much to the annoyance of his neighbours.

He was also a womaniser and took an immediate shine to Patsy Palmer’s Bianca Jackson with the pair having a one-night stand despite her dating Ricky Butcher.

Coleman remained with the soap until 1999, when Lenny left Walford to work in a West End bar.
