Strictly Come Dancing star Kym Marsh revealed the extent of her pain after her pro partner Graziano Di Prima picked her up in celebration.

After she previously found herself in the bottom two against Matt Goss and Nadiya Bychkova a week before, the former Coronation Street actress was overwhelmed when she avoided the dreaded dance-off during Saturday’s BBC centenary special.

Kym and Graziano danced a Quickstep to Sweet’s Ballroom Blitz, but were in quite a vulnerable position the judges scored their routine 27 out of 40.

However, after presenter Tess Daley revealed that she made it through another week Graziano picked joyfully lifting her up.

Although the act was done out of love, Kym explained why it actually caused her a lot of pain during Monday’s installment of Morning Live.

Reflecting on Graziano’s enthusiastic embrace, Kym told co-host Gethin Jones: ‘My eyes came out of my head and rolled across the dancefloor for a minute.’

‘What you see there, when he picks me up, is that I’ve got a really bad back at the moment, so when he picked me up and I was already emotional, as he put me down they were actually tears of pain.

‘I thought “argh my head’s going to pop off.”‘

Kym recently addressed how ‘difficult’ it’s been juggling her Strictly training, alongside filming Morning Live and Waterloo Road.

‘It’s quite tricky. We train as much as we can. We put in as many hours as we can,’ the former Hear’Say singer said.

‘There are some days when it becomes impossible when my schedule at Waterloo Road becomes too manic like we lost Tuesday [this] week.

‘It is difficult. I have two other jobs and I have a family. They have to be priority as well.’

Before the show began, Kym also shared that she had a ‘full-on meltdown’.

‘Although it was funny because I think I was more nervous in the dress rehearsal than I was on the actual day. It was really weird,’ she told Metro.co.uk.

Morning Live airs weekdays at 9:15am on BBC One, and Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6:50pm.
