Christine McGuinness and Chelcee Grimes have become close amid the model’s split from husband Paddy McGuinness.

The pair have enjoyed a solid friendship since meeting on ITV’s The Games this year, with footballer Chelcee reportedly acting as ‘support’ for Christine amid the break-up.

Olympics-style competition The Games saw a crop of celebrities take part in a series of events across a week of live broadcasting early in 2022, however despite proving popular with fans it was confirmed to have been axed after just one season.

While the competition was won by Love Island’s Wes Nelson, Chelcee and Christine didn’t walk away empty-handed, as they appear to have found a friend for life in each other.

The pair have jetted off on multiple holidays abroad, having most recently gone to Crete.

They didn’t post photos of each other however, instead sharing bikini-clad selfies describing the trip as ‘When business meets pleasure.’

A source has now given fans an insight into their friendship, telling The Sun: ‘Christine and Chelcee hit it off straight away and love spending time with each other.

‘They have just enjoyed another sun-filled break together but also hang out a lot at home.’

The source added that Chelcee is a regular at Christine’s home ‘when their schedules allow it and she’s been such a support for her.’

Their newest trip comes after they enjoyed a break in Santorini last month, and over the summer went on a group trip to Croatia.

Christine previously described Chelcee as her ‘soul sister,’ telling the Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine in July that ‘straight away from the day I met her, I just loved her.’

Reality icon Christine and Top ear star Paddy announced in July that they had separated after 11 years of marriage.

At the time, they explained that they were still living together in the family home, with their ‘main focus’ on continuing ‘loving and supporting our children.’

The former couple share three children: Penelope and Leo, nine, and six-year-old Felicity, each of whom have autism, with Christine herself getting diagnosed last year.

In December 2021, Paddy and Christine released BBC Documentary Our Family and Autism, which was nominated for a National Television Award.

Ahead of the awards show earlier this month, Christine admitted she was struggling as she ‘had a lot on’.

‘I’ll be honest, I’m not going to lie. I’m not going to come on and say “I’m fine. I’m just having a little quiet time.” I’m really not fine,’ she told followers on Instagram.

She added that she was ‘having more good days than bad,’ and thanked everyone who had supported her in recent months.
