Its spooky season, so you know what that means. No, not Halloween parties, chocolate and underwhelming costumes.

It means this week’s TV has the scream factor. So from an witchy action adventure to something that will make your bones shiver, here’s what’s in store on Netflix and Paramount+ this week.

It’s going to be a spooky one so strap in.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities

Netflix

Scream like you mean it (Picture: David Lee/Netflix)

Who better to take your mind off the horrors of daily life than the film-maker Guillermo del Toro, whose imagination wanders between the grotesque Grand Guignol and straight-out splat-festery in this short-story anthology.

Daily double bills each day to Friday.

The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself

Paramount+

A witchy tale (Picture: Teddy Cavendish)

Titans star Jay Lycurgo doesn’t know witch (sorry) way to turn in this fantasy drama. Nathan (Lycurgo) is being held captive by a coven of witches that holds Britain in its thrall, the jumping-off point for a fantasy drama full of dark wit and verve.

Available Friday.

Hauntings

Paramount+

Paige Barthram as Janet Hodgson (Picture: Story Films)

The Enfield Poltergeist has already been the subject of a Sky TV drama (The Enfield Haunting, 2015) but here the peculiar tale of spookiness in the outer reaches of north London (left) is given more of a fact-based take (OK, so the facts are sketchy) in a drama-documentary series that takes in other experiences of real-life weirdness.

Available Friday.
