The world’s strongest man admits a career in professional wrestling isn’t for him.

Eddie Hall is no stranger to tough challenges but the former World’s Strongest Man was left reeling less than half an hour into WWE training.

The heavyweight strongman has been vocal about his love for professional wrestling and even held talks with WWE in the past, while also working with former tag team champions The Headbangers to try and learn the skills needed to make it in the ring.

He exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I tried WWE wrestling with a tag team the Headbangers back in 2019. I went in the ring with them and I lasted 20 minutes and I ripped my bicep off the bone!

‘That was my first bicep detachment! They were being soft and gentle, they both threw me over, landed on my back and I was like, “Ooh, my arm hurts a bit”. I rolled my bicep down!

‘That was 20 minutes of doing WWE, so people think you can just walk in and get flipped over? No mate, it doesn’t work like that, you’re gonna get seriously injured doing that s**t. You’ve got to train for months if not years to be even a low level WWE wrestler!’

It’s no surprise Eddie wanted to try his hand at wrestling, especially after falling in love with WWE as a child and still looking up to stars like The Big Show and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

‘It was the one thing everyone talked about. It was massive, wasn’t it? Everyone knew the Big Show, everyone knew the Undertaker, everyone knew The Rock. It’s like a fantasy world for kids,’ he said with genuine affection.

‘I guess once you’ve lived through that era, it sort of blueprints on you for the rest of your life. When I was a kid, I remember watching the Terminator, and then I was obsessed with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

‘Then I watched strongman, and I was obsessed with strongman. Then I watched WWE, and I was obsessed WWE.’

With a smile, the 34-year-old star – who has just launched his own BEAST range of low-calorie, high-protein products with healthier alternative food and drink brand The Skinny Food Co. – admitted for fans who have been introduced to that world, the passion and joy never truly leaves you.

‘You can grow up, but inside there’s still that little kid who loves the wrestling, loves watching the strongman and walks around wishing he was The Undertaker,’ he chuckled, admitting he now lives out his dream playfighting with his teenage son Max.

‘Now and again, I’ll get my son and we’ll smash each other about in his bedroom and throw each other on the bed – John Cena, all that. It’s good fun!’

However, Eddie has again reiterated that the brutal schedule of travelling and wrestling 48 weeks a year – with multiple shows a week – was ultimately something he wasn’t willing to commit to.

‘We’ve looked into it and we’ve had conversations and it’s a different life, you know? It’s a hard life. I feel sorry for WWE wrestlers. They’re on the road 48 plus weeks a year, four or five shows a week,’ he said.

‘They’re putting their bodies through hell, they don’t see their family or friends for weeks and months on end. Sounds like a great life, but it really isn’t.

‘So for everyone out there that thinks the WWE is a dream job and something they wanna do, think again. Have a good think about what those guys do on a yearly basis. It’s hell on earth!’
