Love Is Blind star Lauren Speed, who appeared on the first season of the show, has called out Netflix for seemingly ‘cutting all the Black women’ from the latest instalments.

Last week, the dating reality series returned with a brand new batch of episodes, which saw 30 singletons enter the pods to go on numerous dates without seeing the faces of the people they were getting to know.

Five couples became engaged in the first stage of the experiment: Alexa and Brennon; Zanab and Cole; Raven and SK; Nancy and Bartise; and Colleen and Matt.

Ahead of four new episodes dropping on the streaming platform today, Lauren – who married her husband Cameron Hamilton in series one – criticised what she’d seen of the first part of season three so far.

In a post shared on Twitter, she wrote: ‘I don’t like how LIB be cutting all the black women. How come they are always in the trailer but not the show…’ alongside a side-eye emoji.

The tweet has garnered more than 8,000 likes so far, with several people responding by agreeing with Lauren’s point of view.

I don’t like how LIB be cutting all the black women. How come they are always in the trailer but not the show… 👀

It’s couples that get engaged that aren’t even shown sometimes. I think they only show what they deem most entertaining. https://t.co/sKrYsKMItZ

‘I watched one episode of season 3 and I was not impressed at all. I wanna see more black women finding love on tv. It’s so sad,’ one person said.

‘I literally said the exact same thing!’ someone else replied, while another commented: ‘Same thing I was saying.’

One individual voiced their view that the first season of Love Is Blind was ‘the only genuine season of the show’.

‘THIS!!!!! I was immediately annoyed,’ another chimed in, while someone else remarked: ‘I thought it was just me … I watched the 1st few episodes and I saw them but then they were poof gone.’

In the trailer for Love Is Blind, several of the contestants who didn’t make it through to the engagement stage were seen.

In the past, it’s emerged that some participants who weren’t featured heavily did actually get engaged, but couldn’t be included in the final edit.

After one Twitter user asked Lauren: ‘I wonder what it is? Are they just not clicking enough with other participants? How do you think they choose what makes the final show?’, she responded: ‘It’s couples that get engaged that aren’t even shown sometimes. I think they only show what they deem most entertaining.’

She added: ‘I know it’s slim pickings but about 85% of them couples be forced (just moving forward for entertainment purposes) anyway. Y’all could at least force some more sisters to move forward throughout the show.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Netflix for comment.

Love Is Blind is available to watch on Netflix.
