The episode RuPaul’s Drag Race UK fans always wait for in eager anticipation arrived tonight on season 4, as Snatch Game made an exciting and eventful return.

The queens had a tough task on their hands to try to impress head judge RuPaul and guests Tess Daly and AJ Odudu, became receiving critiques from extra special guest judge, Spice Girl Mel B, on the runway.

The impressions on the gameshow ranged from stellar Queen Elizabeth I to a less than joyful Marie Kondo, as well as an exuberant St Paddy and a lacklustre Lil Nas X.

The queens then delivered utterly breathtaking looks on the pink-themed runway, delighting Ru, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Scary Spice with their creative and colourful ensembles.

While often, the ranking of the queens must bear an equal weight when balancing their performances in the maxi challenge and runway, in our eyes, things work a little differently when it comes to Snatch Game.

Even if you deliver a look on the runway worthy of London Fashion Week, if your Snatch Game isn’t up to par, you could find yourself in the dreaded lip sync for your life.

The biggest aim of Snatch Game is always to make Ru laugh – which is easier said than done (Picture: BBC Three)

So with that in mind, who was in our tops and bottoms of the week? Read on to find out…

Cheddar Gorgeous – Queen Elizabeth I

Cheddar Gorgeous delivered with a capital D for Snatch Game, rocking rotten teeth for their hilarious take on Queen Elizabeth I, complete with a curly ginger wig and all the ruffles.

The performer didn’t shy away from firing wisecracks in Ru’s direction, completely embodying the character of the (supposedly) virginal queen.

They then took their game a step further for the runway, reclaiming the pink triangle that gay men were forced to wear in concentration camps during the Second World War by the Nazis and raising awareness of HIV.

A true winner overall, through and through.

Jonbers Blonde – St Paddy

Jonbers is growing stronger every episode (Picture: BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy)

Originally, Jonbers Blonde planned on portraying ethereal Irish singer Enya for Snatch Game, before RuPaul came up with the fantastic idea for the queen to instead turn up as a female version of St Patrick.

While we’re sure Jonbers would have absolutely pulled out all of the stops as Enya, given the queen is bursting with personality aplenty, becoming St Paddy was a stroke of genius on Ru’s part.

Jonbers brought the energy to Snatch Game, which some contestants were unable to match, before giving us face on the runway with a beautiful beat.

Good on you Jonbers!

Dakota Schiffer – Pete Burns

Dakota outdid herself as Pete Burns (Picture: BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy)

Dakota Schiffer is undeniably one of the sweetest contestants on this year’s series of Drag Race UK – which made her portrayal of Pete Burns that much more amusing.

She rose to the top tonight after landing in last week’s bottom two opposite Baby, giving her all to her performance as the late Celebrity Big Brother star.

On the runway, Dakota was the epitome of ‘fash-un daring’, oozing couture with her polished Fashion Week-worthy look and equally stunning hair and make-up.

A win-win all around.

Danny Beard – Cilla Beard

While Danny Beard was fortunately named safe by Ru alongside Dakota, they didn’t shine this week like we expected them to.

At the start of the episode, Danny planned on becoming Louis Walsh for Snatch Game – which we think would have gone down an absolute treat.

However, after Ru expressed doubts, the queen became spooked and went for Cilla Black instead, which was enjoyable to watch if slightly underwhelming, given we know just how strong a performer they are.

A deserved safe spot.

Pixie Polite

Pixie managed to avoid the bottom two (Picture: BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy)

Pixie Polite was on the verge of being named the winner of the week for both the improv challenge and last week’s Lairy Poppins Rusical – but faltered in the Snatch Game with a less-than imaginative take on Shirley Ballas.

Despite Pixie’s brilliant acting chops, we found that she relied too heavily on diamond joke after diamond joke, not recognising when the quips weren’t landing and shaking things up for Ru, Tess and AJ.

When she took to the main stage, she chose a beautifully-flattering ensemble which went down a treat.

While she’s dipped in the rankings this week, we’re glad she’s still in the running for the crown.

Le Fil – Marie Kondo

Le Fil has done themselves proud in the competition (Picture: BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy)

We’ve loved watching Le Fil in the competition – but we’re sad to say, their Marie Kondo impersonation didn’t spark joy in the way we would have hoped.

The queen nailed Marie’s earnest enthusiasm for all things cleaning and organising, but didn’t manage to step outside of the box and push themselves so that they could stand out amongst the rest of the competition.

Le Fil absolutely bossed the runway with one of the most gorgeous looks of the night – but when it comes to Snatch Game, the performance is pretty much the main criteria for evading the bottom two.

We’re sad Le Fil’s time on the show has come to an end after lip syncing opposite Black Peppa, but they’ve definitely done themselves proud.

Black Peppa – Lil Nas X

We have no doubt that Black Peppa can rise to the top again (Picture: BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy)

There wasn’t much between Le Fil and Black Peppa when it came to Snatch Game, with both of the queens ending up in the bottom two at the end of the episode.

However, Black Peppa had far more material to work with considering Lil Nas X has such a huge personality, so their performance was a shame considering we know how extraordinarily talented the competitor is.

Fortunately for the queen, their lip sync saved them their spot in the competition to slay another week, so we’re hoping Black Peppa comes back stronger in the next episode.

We have faith in you!
