Clarkson’s Farm season 2 might not even have aired yet, but Jeremy Clarkson has confirmed the third series has already started filming.

After the huge success of the first season of Clarkson’s Farm, it’s been announced that the series has already been given the green light for a third season.

The second season is due to air early next year.

After a career driving fast cars around the world, no-one was more surprised than Jeremy himself when he decided to try farming his thousand-acre Oxfordshire estate in 2019.

While the fields were arable and grew barley, rapeseed and wheat, he renamed the farm ‘Duddky Squat’ to indicate its lack of productivity.

The fact that he was also contending with the worst farming weather in decades, misbehaving animals, unresponsive crops, oh and a global pandemic, saw his work cut out for him.

But with the help of Kaleb Cooper, Gerald Cooper, Charlie Ireland and Lisa Hogan, he’s managed to not muck it up just yet.

As filming for the third season gets underway, the second is set to show the introduction of new animals and crops, Jeremy’s dealings with the local council as he attempts to diversify his operation with a restaurant; and Kaleb yet again saving the day on numerous occasions.

It will also examine the impact of the current economy on British farmers.

Following on from that, the third season will follow the team as they pursue the untapped opportunities of the currently unfarmed 513 acres on the estate.

Nothing will be easy though, with agricultural antics and typical Clarkson-crafted schemes, as new and creative ways to use the other half of the farm are considered.

‘I’m genuinely thrilled that we are doing a third season of Clarkson’s Farm. I’ve had some great new ideas, all of which have made Charlie, Lisa and Kaleb deeply unhappy,’ Jeremy said.

Having no issue with putting his boss in his place, farmer Kaleb has also amassed a legion of fans since the first season started airing, with an almighty 1 million Instagram followers and a book about his life working the land growing his profile.

He was also nominated in the Expert category at the recent National Television Awards this year, while the show was also given a nod in the Factual Entertainment Programme category.

As Kaleb said, ‘third time’s a charm’, but he hoped this might be the series ‘Jeremy finally starts taking advice from a real farmer’.

It’s likely cameras will also be capturing the troubles the team have been having since being forced to shut the farm’s restaurant and café by the local council due to concerns it is ‘visually intrusive and harmful’ to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Clarkson’s Farm is available to stream on Prime Video.
