After announcing his 2023 UK tour, tickets to see Lewis Capaldi sold out in a ‘second’ this morning, according to the Scot singer.
The Before You Go hitmaker posted the news on his Twitter page, understandably devastating many, after general sale for the tour went live.
‘ENTIRE UK TOUR SOLD OUT IN A SINGLE SECOND at 9AM, completely lost for words thank u all so so so much ❤️,’ Capaldi wrote.
That’s right, according to fans hoping to get their hands on some tickets, within seconds of going live on Ticketmaster, The Ticket Factory, and See Tickets at 9am, all UK venues sold out.
Many punters were left disappointed after not even reaching the front of the online queues before tickets were unavailable.
The shows come in support of the artist’s upcoming sophomore release, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, due May 19, 2023.
Capaldi, 26, has already released a single from the album, Forget Me, which came complete with a music video that recreated Wham!’s Club Tropicana video shot-for-shot.
The upcoming album is a follow-up to 2019 release Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which featured hit singles Hold Me While You Wait, Someone You Loved, and Grace.
The tour will see Capaldi, 26, play shows in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Birmingham, and many more cities across the UK.

‘Sad because I was on there early for Nottingham tickets but there was nothing available ☹️,’ one fan posted on Twitter after not being able to get a ticket.
Another said: ‘Did they aye 💔 well Ticketmaster had me waiting in a queue for 30 mins for no reason counting down from 22,000 people ahead of me in queue 🙃 wait till I tell my maw her Christmas is ruined. Still love ye but x’
‘Gutted 😭 been sat over an hour waiting to get in, not lucky this time! ☹️,’ a third wrote.
Speaking to NME about the upcoming album, Capaldi said: ‘I felt like I was sounding better because I was just chilled out in my own gaff.
‘Also, a lot of this record was made with most of the same people who I worked with on the first one: TMS, Phil Plested, Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway. At least one of them is on almost every song.’
He said the album will contain ’emotional songs’ about love or loss, and he didn’t want to create a new sound or reinvent himself for the record.
Metro.co.uk contacted Ticketmaster for comment.
Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent is out May 19 2023.
