Now, who could forget Bogies? The iconic Dick and Dom game from In Da Bungalow days which saw the presenting duo screaming ‘bogies’ in the quietest public places.

It has become, arguably, what the pair are most known for, and it also became a much loved playground game for school kids.

However, as hilarious as Bogies was, the children’s TV presenters – real names Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood – have now revealed that it didn’t always go according to plan…

Explaining the concept and how Bogies came to be Dick began on Soccer AM: ‘It actually started, it as our boss, our producer, Steve, who’s a genius, and he used to work backstage at a theatre and they used to play a game, not Bogies, a different word, I’ll let you decide what the word was…

‘So, when he came to kids’ TV he thought, let’s do that game! Turned it into Bogies, basically you go into a museum, or a quiet place like a library, and you start saying bogies quietly and then you get louder and louder and louder, until one of you bottles out or the other one isn’t as loud.’

Dom joked that Dick had less ‘shame’ so he would typically win, as he laughed: ‘I don’t care! I’ll go anywhere!’

When asked if it ever ‘backfired,’ Dom explained that it actually did a couple of times.

‘One time was in Italy in a motorbike museum, they didn’t know who we were or what was going on! And it was “moccio,” which is Italian for bogies, and yeah, they didn’t know what was going on. So, we got kicked out of there.’

But the second time Bogies went wrong, well, it almost ended in a physical fight.

‘The other time was in the Sea Life Centre in London, and it was a very new game so no one knew what was going on and Rich (Dick) crept up behind someone, screamed bogies at the top of his voice, what he didn’t know was that man had his newborn baby strapped to the front,’ Dom said, adding that the baby started screaming.

Understandably, the man was not happy, so he took matters, quite literally, into his own hands.

‘He had him up against the wall, it was the maker of horror films!’, Dom exclaimed.

If you’re wondering what Dick and Dom are up to these days, well, they may not be screaming about snot in supermarkets and museums, but they are using their voices for other causes – politics.

Most recently, ahead of the resignation of Conservative Prime Minister Liz Truss, the pair branded the government ‘twisted f***s’ after Westminster descended into chaos.

They also called for a ‘general election now’ following several sackings in the cabinet, before Rishi Sunak was appointed Tory Party leader.
