WWE star Carmella has been treated for an ectopic pregnancy just weeks after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage.

The 35-year-old wrestler – who is married to Raw commentator Corey Graves – revealed the news in an emotional post on Monday, the same day she underwent treatment, marking the end of Infant Loss Awareness Month.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘I’ve gone back and forth with myself about posting this because I’m not looking for any sort of sympathy, but since today is the last day of Infant Loss Awareness month, I wanted to share my story.

‘Today, I was treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I never thought something like this would happen to me, especially after suffering from an early miscarriage in September. Nothing can prepare you for this news after getting a positive pregnancy test.

‘I was cautiously optimistic this time around after the early loss I had already experienced, but was hoping for the best.’

Over the weekend, Carmella – whose real name is Leah Van Dale – spent 12 hours in the emergency room after feeling ‘some sharp pains’ on her left side.

She continued: ‘After several tests and ultrasounds, I was given the devastating news that this was, in fact, an abnormal pregnancy.

‘The reason I’m sharing all of this is because in the moment it feels so isolating. Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about this?’

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been inspired by comedian Iliza’s new stand up special in which she opens up about her own miscarriage and urges people to speak openly on the subject to stop other women blaming themselves.

She added: ‘I want to do the same. I’m part of this statistic and it’s happening to me.

‘Again, I’m not looking for sympathy, I know I’ll eventually recover from all of this mentally, physically and emotionally.

‘For anyone dealing with ANY type of pregnancy loss, I want you to know your feelings and emotions are valid, there is NOTHING wrong with you and you are not alone.’

Her fellow stars have responded with messages of support, and her husband Corey has also commented about his pride in his wife for speaking out.

He replied: ‘I love you so much. I’m so proud of you.’

‘Sending all my love,’ Sasha Banks wrote, while Raw star Alexa Bliss said: ‘Sending you hugs’.

And WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella added: ‘I can’t even imagine your pain right now. Saying prayers for you. Thank you for being so honest and sharing this.

‘You will hope so many women that are going through this or have gone through this. Us women need each other to lean on.’
