Davido is said to be mourning the death of his three-year-old son who has reportedly died.

Reports have emerged that the Nigerian singer’s son Ifeanyi Adeleke died on Monday after allegedly drowning in a pool at his parents’ home in Lagos.

Davido, 29, and his fiancée Chioma Rowland, a popular chef and influencer, have not commented on their son’s death.

However, a police spokesman has told the BBC that an emergency call was placed at 10pm local time, and that eight domestic workers are being questioned.

Benjamin Hundeyin said: ‘We are reviewing the CCTV cameras to get additional information about the circumstances of his death.

‘His body has been deposited in the morgue. We are in touch with his parents. In fact they were with us last night.’

Hundeyin added to the Daily Post: ‘Domestic staff at Davido’s home have been taken to the station to give their own account of what happened. I wouldn’t call that arrest yet.

‘If after they all give their own account of what happened and after preliminary investigations, if any one of them is found culpable, the person will now be placed under arrest.’

Celebrities have begun paying tribute, with Stefflon Don tweeting: ‘Prayers up for Chioma and Davido.’

Former Nigerian governor Peter Obi wrote: ‘I send my sincere condolences to Davido and Chioma, over the death of their son Ifeanyi. I cannot begin to imagine the pains they are going through at the moment. May God grant them healing, strength and comfort in this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.-PO.’
