Great British Bake Off viewers demand answers as Janusz’s eighth spring roll mysteriously disappears-Louise Griffin-Entertainment – Metro

Great British Bake Off has sparked various controversies over the years, but we might just have our very first unsolved mystery.
During pastry week, the bakers were tasked with a very tricky technical – whipping up eight spring rolls in an hour and 20 minutes.
Putting aside for a moment the debate as to whether it counts as actual baking, intrigue and bewilderment encircled the famous tent when it came to the judging.
As judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood came to Janusz’s spring rolls, Paul declared that it was a good attempt – but it was a shame there were only seven.
Along with the rest of the nation, Janusz was immediately horrified and indignant, whispering that he had indeed produced eight spring rolls.
He ultimately placed in second, behind winner Sandro, with Paul asking the baker the question the entire country was no doubt screaming at their screens: ‘Where’s the eighth?’
Still puzzled, Janusz answered: ‘I deep fried eight, and seven ended up on the plate’.
Naturally, fans are in dire need of answers, taking to social media to ponder the mystery.
‘The nation trying to figure out the mystery of the century. Where is Janusz’s 8th spring roll?’ one summed up.
‘Where’s Janusz’s spring roll? We need to know,’ another demanded, while one more added: ‘I hope Scotland Yard is going to launch an investigation into The missing spring roll.’
Now, we’re not ruling out the possibility that Janusz, in a hunger-fuelled trance, ate his own eighth spring roll. We’ve all been there. But if he says he made eight, then we believe him!
Unlike viewers at home, Janusz was able to put spring roll-gate behind him, producing a showstopper pie inspired by his pet dog, titled The Very Hungry Sausage Dog.
Viewers have been questioning some of the decisions on the Bake Off recently, with many declaring that some of the challenges don’t count as baking.
During Mexican week, the bakers were tasked with making tacos, while custard week saw them having to make ice cream, before having spring rolls sprung upon them on pastry week.
We’re willing to let it slide if we ever find out what happened to the eighth spring roll.
Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
