A scene from Only Fools and Horses starring Sir David Jason as Del Boy Trotter has been voted the funniest sitcom moment ever.
The episode, titled Yuppy Love, first aired on the BBC in January 1989 and features Del Boy’s questionable pulling methods.
In it, the wheeler-dealer is in a bar with pal Trigger, played by the late Roger Lloyd Pack, as he attempts to seduce two glamourous women sipping on wine.
Turning to Trigger, Del Boy says: ‘You see nowadays these modern Euro birds they go for the more mature men who’ve made it in life.
Trigger retorts: ‘Yeah. Is that why we’re having no luck?’
Shaking off the dig, Del Boy asserts: ‘Haven’t started yet. I’m just building myself up to it, before a tired Trigger replied: ‘Well you better hurry up it will be closing time soon.’
The camera then pans to two women who shoot the pair a glance, with Del Boy barely containing his excitement.
He exclaims: ‘I think we’re on a winner here. Play it nice and cool son, nice and cool. You know what I mean?’
However, rather than play it ‘nice and cool’, Del Boy leans over to prop his hand on the bar but instead falls head-first into the floor.

Some 2,000 British adults and children voted it as the most hilarious sequence in a sitcom in a poll commissioned by TV channel Gold to celebrate its 30th birthday.
The research also revealed Only Fools And Horses to be the nation’s favourite sitcom of all time, claiming 29% of the vote, and Del Boy the most loved comedy character, with 59% of respondents in agreement.

In second place is the scene in the BBC’s The Vicar Of Dibley when the Rev Geraldine Granger, played by Dawn French, falls into a deep puddle while taking a country walk.
Meanwhile, the third is the scene in Dad’s Army where a German officer demands to know the name of Private Pike, played by Ian Lavender, and Captain Mainwaring, portrayed by Arthur Lowe, accidentally says “Don’t tell him, Pike!”

Following the results, Gold recreated three of the nation’s favourite scenes with children in the lead roles to “reflect the timeless nature of these iconic sitcoms”.
Shot in varying locations across London and Hertfordshire, the clips were created by UKTV Creative with a cast of children between the ages of nine and 13.
For Only Fools and Horses, nine-year-old Thomas Aitch plays Del Boy with fellow actor Dane Young starring as Trigger to re-enact the top-rated falling through the bar scene.
Recently, several of the sitcom’s OG cast reunited almost two decades after the final episode aired.
