Marvel fans have a theory about Joe Locke’s potential WandaVision character in Agatha Harkness spin-off-Sabrina Barr-Entertainment – Metro

A new star has entered our midst in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the news that Heartstopper fave Joe Locke has been cast in the upcoming series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

The show, which is a spin-off of the critically-acclaimed WandaVision, will see Kathryn Hahn return as the titular witch, having previously gone head-to-head with Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) in Westview.

While Joe’s character is currently remaining under wraps, there are theories flying about regarding who he could be playing – and a particularly convincing theory points towards a character we’ve already met in WandaVision.

In the previous Marvel show, which was the first to be released on Disney Plus, viewers meet the twin sons of Wanda and Vision (Paul Bettany) – Billy (Julian Hilliard) and Tommy (Jett Klyne).

Also known as Wiccan and Speed in the comics, Wiccan has powers similar to his mother, while Speed – as the name suggests – has super speed like his late uncle, Pietro Maximoff.

Many fans strongly believe that Joe will be playing an older version of Billy/Wiccan, particularly because Deadline states that according to sources, he’ll be portraying ‘a gay teen with a dark sense of humour’.

Wiccan is gay in the Marvel comics and has a relationship with a character called Hulkling, who fans are yet to see in live-action.

‘Could we be looking at the grown up version of Billy Maximoff aka WICCAN?’ one person tweeted excitedly in response to the news of Joe’s casting, as another said: ‘I might just pass out if he is.’

‘I’m so excited. Wiccan is one of my faves!!’ someone else said.

Over on Reddit, one person said that they immediately thought of Joe as Wiccan, adding: ‘If that’s the case, he’s a great pick for the role!’

Some brought up a storyline in the comics where Billy and Tommy are reincarnated in other bodies, which might explain why Wiccan would have aged up so quickly.

Others pointed out that they’d already ‘fan-casted’ Joe as Wiccan, so they’re desperately hoping their theory about his character is true.

‘So weird to see fancasting become actual reality. This gotta be Wiccan right?’ one person said.

‘The madlads did it. The first fan casting I’ve ever actually agreed with and they’re doing it. 100% for this, SO excited to see him as my boi Wiccan!!’ another wrote.

There were also some fans who expressed their hope that Kit Connor – who starred opposite Joe in Heartstopper – could end up being cast as Hulkling.

‘The fact that he and Kit Connor would be like the perfect casting for Wiccan and Hulkling is kinda funny,’ someone said.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos will air on Disney Plus.
