WWE superstar R-Truth had to be helped from ringside after suffering a scary injury during a match on NXT.
The former 24/7 Champion and all-round beloved performer made a rare appearance on the company’s developmental brand to face rising star Grayson Waller but things took a turn for the worse with the bout called off.
Truth – whose real name is Ron Killings – was going for a dive to the outside, but appeared to catch himself on the top rope and didn’t land right.
He immediately went for his knee, with the referee and medics ruling him unable to continue as the match got abruptly halted live on air.
The 50-year-old wrestling veteran was able to walk out with the support of officials rather than needing a stretcher, and there is no official word on the nature of the injury.
WWE is yet to offer any further details, although the immediate reaction from fans was that it appeared to be a legitimate injury rather than something planned for the show as part of a storyline, with many hoping it was a painful knock instead of a more serious incident.

‘Speedy recovery R-Truth, that was nasty,’ tweeted one viewer, with a second hoping it ‘isn’t too bad’ while a third added: ‘Hope R-Truth is okay. That looked rough.’
‘That was a brutal landing for R-Truth, hope he’s okay man,’ another fan wrote, while others offered thoughts and prayers.

A different person said: ‘Hopefully it is not a serious injury but if it is praying for a speedy recovery for R-Truth.’
Although largely used for comedy purposes, R-Truth is a real fan favourite and talented star, and he had appeared on TV more regularly in recent weeks.
His current character twist had seem him interrupt people whenever they said the word ‘truth’, which happened on Raw this week when he confronted JBL and his protege Baron Corbin.
WWE NXT airs Tuesday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
