It’s November, which only means one thing: Christmas advert season is among us.

While we were busy burning to a crisp during the blistering summer heatwave, the biggest brands were hard at work creating this year’s festive campaigns, attempting to pull at our heartstrings so we drop cash on all their products.

So far, M&S, Disney, and TK Maxx have released their adverts, with the likes of Aldi and Sainsbury’s yet to come.

There’s no sign yet of the annually anticipated John Lewis offering, but there are still plenty of others to get excited about.

So, why not grab a mince pie and indulge in a little mulled wine, and settle down to soak them all up?

Disney – The Gift

Disney has gone all out this year, concluding its From Our Family To Yours series of adverts.

The trilogy first began in 2020, and the final part tells the story of a young girl, Ella, welcoming her new baby sibling into the family.

In The Gift, Ella can be seen being disappointed as her pregnant mother cannot go ice skating and also breaks festive decorations due to labour pains.

However, when her new sibling arrives, she gives the baby her glow-in-the-dark Mickey Mouse soft toy that was gifted to her by her older brother Max at the start of the short.

Encanto star Jessica Darrow, who is the voice of Luisa Madrigal in the film, performs the track A Little More, while the tale unfolds.

M&S – Fairy and Duckie

M&S has managed to recruit comedy legends Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders for their offering.

The leading supermarket enlisted the help of the national treasures to tell the tale of Fairy and her new pal Duckie.

Having stepped out from the dog’s bed, Duckie tells Fairy that she’s falling apart, as some of the stuffing from her stomach falls to the ground.

However, Fairy has a solution – making sure that Duckie is filled with Christmas spirit instead.

TK Maxx – Christmas Nailed

TK Maxx was among the first retailers to launch their festive offering, with a focus on nailing Christmas for less.

Their advert tells the story of Sam, whose dad is quick to congratulate her for her incredible gifts, while curious as to how she managed to source them.

Her answer? ‘Just went to TK Maxx’.

Impressed, her father offers up his hand and starts a chain of spectacular high-fives from people, presents, pets, and even a post-box, which leads Sam through the town.

Set to a soundtrack of Cerrone’s 1977 hit Supernature, it’s brilliantly refreshing that it’s not been tied to a Christmas track.

Very – Gifts for all your Christmases

Very was the first retailer to drop its Christmas advert at the impeccably early date of October 8, sparking outrage among viewers.

Their campaign, titled Gifts for all your Christmases, celebrates the big day being ‘lots of days’ rather than just December 25.

Fittingly set to Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, the lead star points out the many festivities, including work Christmas, birthday Christmas, and kid-free Christmas.
