Rihanna has reportedly tapped on a Hollywood A-lister and controversial figure to star in her upcoming Savage x Fenty fashion show, with Johnny Depp set for a cameo.

The Lift Me Up singer will air her fourth fashion presentation this Friday on Amazon Prime Video, starring models such as Cara Delevingne and Irina Shayk strutting along the runway wearing her latest lingerie collections.

Musical performances will come from Anitta and Burna Boy but, according to reports, Rihanna has a big surprise in store.

It’s said that Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny will feature as a special guest but he won’t be walking the runway.

Instead, he’ll take the spotlight as one of the show’s ‘star’ moments which has previously seen Cindy Crawford and Erykah Badu make cameos. Johnny, 59, will also be the first man in the history of Savage x Fenty to take on the role.

According to TMZ, Rihanna, 34, and her team reached out to Johnny to invite him to take part and he was thrilled to say yes. It’s believed Johnny has already filmed his segment, described as ‘cool and chic’ while honouring all aspects of his artistry such as acting, modelling and music.

Johnny’s involvement will no doubt divide fans in light of his controversial libel trial against ex-wife Amber Heard over the summer.

The Edward Scissorhands actor sued the actress claiming she defamed him with an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 describing her experience with domestic abuse.

Johnny wasn’t named in the piece, but his legal team argued it suggested he was the partner who was physically and emotionally abusive towards her.

Johnny was married to Aquaman actress Amber, 36, for a year with their marriage coming to an end in 2016.

After a six-week trial, a jury found that Amber did defame the actor and both sides were awarded various damages.

Since his victory, Johnny has barely stopped working after embarking on a tour with Jeff Beck over the summer and releasing an album with the musician, while he’s set to also reunite with his own band Hollywood Vampires next year.

In terms of acting, he has also finished filming scenes for the period drama Jeanne du Barry.

Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Vol 4 airs on Amazon Prime Video on November 9.
