Strictly Come Dancing’s Fleur East explained what went down after reports confirmed she reperformed her routine during Sunday’s dance-off.
The former X Factor singer landed in the bottom two with her partner Vito Coppola during the results show, but was saved by judges Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse, with EastEnders star James Bye becoming the fifth star eliminated.
Earlier today, it was reported that Fleur suffered an unfortunate incident with a prop at the beginning of her Halloween-themed salsa which sent her crashing to the ground along with Vito, which resulted in their performance coming to a halt.
Metro.co.uk understands that Fleur and her partner had no involvement in the decision to stop their performance, with the director making the quick decision to order the band to stop the music.
During Thursday’s Loose Women, the Sax hitmaker cleared up the claims with presenters Judi Love, Kaye Adams, Denise Welch and Nadia Sawalha, after Strictly was hit with a string of fix claims.
Fleur’s dance partner Vito said: ‘Basically what happened, in the first few seconds of our number, I just fell down on the chair.

‘Literally was a bad fall. Everyone was gasping, but I showed them I was okay and able to restart so thank you – I’m fine, I’m here today so all good. Thank you very much.’
Despite production stepping in to make sure the duo were OK, Fleur and Vito joked that they were still raring to go despite the tumble
Vito continued: ‘We were continuing because we always say to each other, “if anything happens, let’s just keep going, keep continuing and literally I was trying to stand up and continue, and when I turned around she was spinning the wheel…’
‘I was ready,’ Fleur enthused.

‘I was like the show must go on. And then production decided to stop the music. We were like, ‘oh, okay’.”
Sunday’s result show also marked Fleur’s second time in the dreaded dance-off.
Reflecting how she felt being in the bottom two against actor James, Fleur shared that she found it ‘hard not to take it personally.’
‘To tell you the truth I’m not a trained dancer no matter what anybody thinks,’ she said.

‘I’ve never been to stage school. I don’t know what toe is, what heel is… [Vito] will tell you, I don’t know any of it.
‘I’ve literally just been winging it to be honest. The thing is when you sing, you have the mic in your hand.
‘You’re controlling the vocals, you can’t really move that much to be honest. It’s like smoke and mirrors – you’ve got dancers behind you and If I’ve ever done a music video and I can’t get a dance move, they’ll change it because I’m the singer. I’ve never had to do anything I can’t do.’
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV and Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
