It might be bad luck to be putting it back on, but Sarah Jessica Parker has been seen in the wedding gown that Carrie Bradshaw was wearing when she got left at the altar in Sex and the City.
Nearly 15 years after Mr. Big broke our collective hearts in the 2008 movie, Parker has been snapped filming scenes for the second season of And Just Like That in the Vivienne Westwood gown.
But while the original dress doesn’t appear to have been altered, there have been some minor accessory changes, with the addition of some teal green gloves and a matching opera coat.
Like in the film, Carrie is wearing a feathered headpiece, but this time with a netted veil over her face.
However, the sight of Carrie in her frock might still make fans’ blood boil as they remember when Big left Carrie waiting at the New York Public Library after he got cold feet.
When they drove past each other soon after, Carrie ran out of her limousine and launched at Big, whacking him with her bouquet as she said she knew he ‘would do this.’

Although the couple would eventually wed at City Hall, where she wore a white suit and Manolo Blahnik’s silk Hangisi stilettos in royal blue, Big was shockingly killed off in the premiere of And Just Like That last year after suffering a heart attack on his Peloton bike.
Sharing that certain iconic outfits would appear in this spin-off, costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago said last year that Carrie would be rewearing items from her famous closet as a reflection of the times and due to a renewed focus on sustainability in the fashion industry.

‘Carrie is one of those people who does like to go on adventure or mine for something she hasn’t worn in a while and rewear,’ Rogers said.
‘If you’re at all versed at what’s going on in the world, you want to give back in some way.
‘Even the characters on the show are in this state of mind. We try to reuse the pieces from SJ’s archive in important moments where they meant something, because we wanted to honour them.’

While we love to see this, the biggest question is obviously… why?
With Big not around anymore, is Carrie using this as a chance to honour her late husband, or is she simply wanting to pop down to the shops in an over-the-top fashion moment?
And Just Like That is streaming on NOW.
