Bride customises mum’s wedding dress for her big day robe – but everyone’s saying the same thing

A BRIDE who needed a “Getting Ready Robe” for her big day used her mum’s wedding dress to make the perfect one.

A video of the brunette bride was shared on the Unbox the Dress TikTok page, over the top of which was written: “A mum who doesn’t want her wedding dress to sit in a closet anymore.

And the bride beamed with delight as she wore the robe on the morning of her weddingTikTok/@unboxthedress/

Her mum danced as she showed her mother of the bride ensemble, before the clip continued: “A daughter who needs a Getting Ready Robe for the morning of her wedding.”

The bride was seen wearing a gorgeous white silk robe with intricate detailing, which had been crafted from her mum’s dress, that she’d worn for her own nuptials back in 1991.

Another video showed the dress as it was before it was transformed into a robe – with puff sleeves and a lace detail bodice.

The clip then showed the robe in more detail, with the lace detail having been put onto the front and back of the garment.

The original bow was also transferred from the wedding dress, and was placed delicately on the back of the robe.

“It was just one of the important and special details that I included in my big day,” the bride wrote over another TikTok.

“What I’m most excited about is that one day, my daughter will wear this on her wedding day.”

However, not everyone was convinced that recycling the dress and turning into a robe was a good idea.
