Equipment used at the Taylor Hawkins memorial concerts is set to go up for auction next week, raising money for charities which help musicians in need.

Two concerts took place in September in memory of the late Foo Fighters star, with one taking place in London and the other in Los Angeles.

Items which were used in the shows will be sold off to raise funds for Music Support and MusiCares, which help musicians in times of crisis.

Among the things on offer are a collection of guitars, cymbals and drum skins, signed by musicians who performed at the gigs including Dave Grohl and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.

Bidders will get the chance to buy a guitar owned by Queen legend Brian May as well as cymbals signed by Joan Jett, Stewart Copeland and Kesha.

Among the more expensive items is a one-of-a-kind 2022 Ram Rebel Crew Cab pickup truck, custom built in honour of Hawkins which is set to fetch up to $80,000 (£71,000).

Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien’s Auctions, said: ‘Julien’s Auctions is honoured to offer these incredible pieces signed by the artists from the Foo Fighters and Hawkins Family’s unforgettable tribute concerts that celebrated the extraordinary creative force and light of the legendary music icon, Taylor Hawkins.’

The shows took place at London’s Wembley Arena, where stars including Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Liam Gallagher and more joined the Foo Fighters in remembering the late Hawkins.

In Los Angeles, the band were joined at the Kia Forum by stars including Wolfgang Van Halen and Miley Cyrus, as well as members of The Darkness and Def Leppard.

Hawkins, who played in the Foo Fighters for more than two decades, died at the age of 50 while on tour with the band in Bogota, Colombia in March.

Paramedics had been called after Hawkins experienced chest pains while in his hotel room but was unresponsive when they arrived and performed CPR, before he was pronounced dead.

He had joined Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee in 1997 after touring with Alanis Morissette.

The auction will take place at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York from November 11-13.
