Rita Ora has avoided calling Taika Waititi her ‘husband’, referring to him as her ‘favourite person’.

The couple, who reportedly tied the knot earlier this year, have kept their romance pretty private – but now they’re stepping into the spotlight together as they are set to host the MTV EMAs together.

Popstar Rita, 31, and director Taika, 47, will co-host the awards show live from Düsseldorf, Germany, at the PSD Bank Dome on November 13.

During an appearance on an upcoming episode of the Jonathan Ross show, Rita explained that this time hosting the show will be different to her stint in 2017, as she’ll now be stood beside her partner.

She said: ‘I hosted it back in 2017 but now I’m hosting it again but this time Jonathan I’m co-hosting it with Taika, my partner.

‘We’ve never worked together before. It’s nice to be able to do something fun with my favourite person.

‘We’re the same person. It’s nice to find someone that you can have fun with, work with, respect and respect each other’s work.’

As 12 celebrities including the likes of Boy George and Matt Hancock prepare to head into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Rita was also asked whether she would ever take part.

She told Jonathan: ‘I don’t know. There is a lot I like to have around me. I like to have my diffuser around me, my candles. I don’t know, it seems like a lot for me. I love watching it but it takes a lot of balls and you’ve got to eat them too!’

Elsewhere, Rita revealed she is working on a project with Louis Theroux, who recently interviewed Stormzy and Dame Judi Dench for his new series.

Rita shared: ‘I did this documentary with Louis Theroux. I’ve been asked so many times to do things about my story, journey and how I started in the music industry.’

She continued: ‘I wanted to show my side of things and be completely honest and open the door to my family, and what it takes for a woman in the music industry.’

Rita and Taika have never confirmed rumours they’ve tied the knot.

The pair had reportedly become engaged in June – though neither confirmed their engagement publicly – and Taika was pictured wearing what looked suspiciously like a wedding band.

A close friend of Rita’s later took to Instagram to seemingly confirm the news, congratulating the new ‘Mrs Waititi Ora.’

A source also told The Sun that the chart-topper and Thor: Love and Thunder director were married in London in a ‘really intimate ceremony’ which was ‘super special for everyone there.’

They added: ‘Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.’

Rita and Taika have been linked since March 2021, but at first kept their relationship tightly under wraps.

The couple have known each other since at least 2018, and went public with their relationship in April 2021.

The Jonathan Ross show airs on Saturday at 10.10pm on ITV.
