England Lioness Jill Scott has opened up on ‘misconceptions’ about her, as she joins 11 other celebs heading into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The professional football player is set to join the likes of Boy George, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood and Mike Tindall as a new batch of celebs head into the jungle for some grim bushtucker trials.
The 35-year-old midfielder, who soared to victory with the Lioness’ earlier this summer, announced her retirement from football shortly after.
During her stint in the Euros final, Scott sent viewers into hysterics (and lip readers into action) when she was caught on camera swearing at a rival player, with the clip quickly going viral.
Speaking about the incident, when asked what the biggest misconception about her is, Jill replied: ‘I don’t really think there is one, because I think what you see is what you get, I don’t think I subconsciously try to be anyone else, I probably say what’s in my head quite a lot of the time, which isn’t always a good thing.’

She continued to Metro.co.uk: ‘Obviously there was the little incident over the summer where I said a few swear words while playing in a certain football match.
‘That’s probably a misconception because in hindsight to that situation, I don’t like swearing, but I think at the same time I’m hoping to show my competitive and passionate side whenever I was playing football.’

She later added that the ‘little incident’ as she called it was just showing her ‘passion’ and how much she wanted to win.
‘I would have done absolutely anything that day to win that game,’ she told us, adding: ‘Maybe I did lose it for a short second but at the end of the day we won so hopefully people can forgive that.’

Jill announced her retirement on Twitter in August, not long after Lioness Ellen White did the same, with a post which read: ‘Right, we’re not crying. I promised myself. I’m retiring from football. And I’m leaving with a gold medal swinging from my neck.’
With 161 caps for England, she’d featured in 10 major international tournaments during her career, including two Olympics for Team GB.
I’m A Celebrity 2022 launches on Sunday November 6 at 9pm on ITV.
