Soul musician Noel McKoy has died at the age of 62.

No cause of death has been announced for the London-born star, but representatives confirmed the sad news to Metro.co.uk, sharing that they are in ‘in shock.’

McKoy’s career began with humble beginnings in a school band called The Albions, and he went on to become one of the most recognisable voices in soul music.

McKoy’s vocals featured on James Taylor Quartet’s hit Love The Life, and he joined them on several world tours.

The musician then released his debut solo album Brighter Day in 2009.
