EastEnders is about to see Patsy Kensit head to Walford and shake things up.
The actress is no stranger to soaps, having appeared on Emmerdale as Sadie King for two years, while she went on to play Faye Morton on nearly 200 episodes of Holby City.
But now she will next be seen on the BBC soap opera.
Patsy’s scenes are set to be aired around Christmastime and she will play Emma, who is the long-lost mother of Lola Pearce (played by Danielle Harold).
‘Bosses are thrilled they have managed to get Patsy for this role,’ a BBC source told The Sun.
‘She’s a great actress and is about to play a part in one of their biggest current storylines.’

In the show, Emma abandoned her daughter and husband when Lola was just three years-old and had not been seen in Albert Square before.
Lola first appeared on the soap in 2011 is set to leave the show in 2023 when her character will ultimately die from brain cancer.
Earlier this week, Lola received the crushing news that her cancer was terminal and the emergency surgery she underwent was unable to remove her fast-growing brain tumour completely.

She was then told there was nothing that could be done to save her.
While Patsy hasn’t yet commented on the casting, she has said in the past that she would love to join the show because it reminded her of her upbringing.
‘I’d love to do EastEnders, my father was involved in organised crime in the East End, so I grew up around villains and that kind of backdrop. I can pull a pint and say, “You’re barred”.’

Patsy’s father James was a close associate of both the Kray Twins and the Richardson Gang, earning himself the nickname Jimmy the Dip, and was involved in the Great Train Robbery.
He served time in prison before she was born, while her godfather was Reggie Kray and her paternal grandfather was a robber and counterfeiter.
