Roman Reigns retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Title over Logan Paul in a fantastic main event at Crown Jewel.

The Tribal Chief found himself standing across the ring from Logan in what was only the controversial YouTuber’s third pro wrestling match to date, but the rookie more than held is own with some help from his brother Jake Paul.

The challenger made an entrance, live streaming on Instagram as he came down from the sky on a huge elevated platform, and once he was joined in the ring by Reigns it was time to get down to business.

After impressing in his debut at WrestleMania and first singles match at SummerSlam, Logan raised his game yet again here, showing a great understanding of the business.

The Usos came down to get involved partway through the bout, but Jake Paul made his presence felt in an attempt to even the odds, knocking out twins Jimmy and Jey with a right hand each.

However, their younger brother Solo Sikoa joined the party, with officials rushing out to separate Sikoa and Logan before they could come to blows, planting the seeds for a potential future match.

The Paul brothers also stood face to face with The Usos in another big tease, before Logan got back in the ring and fell to a Superman Punch and Spear from Roman.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens next, with so many potential matchups, and the added wrinkle that is Sami Zayn as part of the Bloodline.

Brock Lesnar stuns Bobby Lashley, Uncle Howdy warns Bray Wyatt and Bianca Belair keeps Bayley down

In the opening match, Brock Lesnar picked up a fluke win over Bobby Lashley after kicking himself off the turnbuckle to turn a Hurt Lock into a pin out of nowhere.

The All Mighty utterly dominated , sending the Beast into the post on the outside and through the barrier, with the former United States Champion looking incredible in a fun, physical clash before Brock’s victory.

After the bell, Lashley went back on the attack with the Hurt Lock once again, taking out his rival. If WWE were smart, Lesnar would be offscreen until the Royal Rumble in January, where he can get revenge on Bobby and lead to a rubber match at WrestleMania 39.

During a backstage interview with Asuka and Alexa Bliss before their tag team title defence against Damage CTRL, Bray Wyatt’s imagery flashed on a screen behind Alexa, with Michael Cole referencing their history on commentary.

The match itself was a fantastic one that had the Riyadh crowd on its feet, with all four women getting plenty of time to shine before Nikki Cross cost her former tag partner Bliss the gold.

Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross delivered a strong effort inside a steel cage, with plenty of brutality between two men who have been embroiled in a bitter feud for a while now.

In the end, Scarlett actually cost her man the match after her tactics with the cage door backfired and Drew was able to escape over the top before Kross could get out of the door his partner had just reopened.

In a surreal moment, Michael Cole reference Bullet Club, New Japan, the Openweight Championship and more while hyping up the huge six-man tag match between The O.C. and Judgment Day.

Everyone involved did a cracking job and clearly came with their working boots on, while Rhea Ripley – whose hairstyle was a sarcastic ‘tribute’ to Beth Phoenix – played a direct role in the ending when she attacked AJ Styles before the pin.

Braun Strowman was in an unusual position as an underdog against Omos, with the Nigerian Giant dominating proceedings for much of the entertaining clash of the big lads.

He managed to switch the momentum and hit a huge powerslam on his opponent, which was probably the right result but does leave you wondering where Omos goes from here.

Despite Jey Uso potentially suffering a broken wrist during WWE’s recent European tour, The Usos still overcome Brawling Brutes duo Ridge Holland and Butch in a fantastic effort.

Despite Jimmy and Jey being almost certain to win, Ridge and Butch were worthy challengers in a fast-paced, thrilling contest.

In the penultimate match, Bianca Belair overcame Bayley in an instant classic with plenty of innovative moments using everything from steel steps and an equipment case to a golf cart and a ladder.

The EST of WWE held onto her Raw Women’s Title after trapping Bayley in a ladder in the corner, but the challenger deserves a lot of credit too, taking some brutal bumps and generally making her opponent look like the star she is.

Bray Wyatt also received a sinister warning from Uncle Howdy, as he delved into his family history and how he found himself in The Fiend mask.

WWE Crown Jewel is available to watch on repeat via the WWE Network.
