A new series of I’m a Celebrity starts tonight (November 6), and fans cannot wait to see how the likes of Boy George, Matt Hancock, and Sue Cleaver get on in the jungle.

While this year is something of a return to normal, with the show back in Australia after spending two years filmed in Wales due to Covid-19 restrictions on travel, there’s still some change afoot.

The series is starting a few weeks earlier than normal – thanks to the football.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup, which kicks off on Sunday, November 20, means I’m a Celeb must start earlier and wrap up earlier – around November 30.

For comparison, the 2021 series of I’m a Celebrity started on November 21 and wrapped up on December 12. Before that, the 2020 series started November 15 and finished December 4.

There will be 22 episodes of this series, airing every night from November 6 except for Saturdays.

It’s the very first World Cup to be held in an Arabic country and the first to be held in winter instead of the traditional summer slot, due to the extreme heats players would face during summer.

The World Cup starts on November 20, with an elaborate opening ceremony and then England will be in action on day two, with their first group stage match against Iran kicking off on Monday, November 21 at 1pm.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 starts tonight at 9pm on ITV.
