Love Island’s Olivia Attwood didn’t know how to react after the public voted for her to be the first I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle VIP.

The highly-anticipated series returned with a bang tonight as we saw the likes of 80s icon Boy George, ITV newsreader Charlene White and Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner made their way into the jungle, as the show returned to Australia after two years.

Tonight, fans watched the campmates settle into their new home but before that, the celebrities had time to get acquainted with one another.

Radio personality Chris Moyles arrived in the luxury villa alone, but was quickly joined by Olivia, Charlene, England Lioness Jill Scott and comedian Babatúndé Aléshé.

After presenters Ant and Dec made their usual entrance via speed boat, the Geordie duo alerted the squad that the public voted for reality star Olivia as the first jungle VP.

Once Ant asked how she felt about the promotion, Olivia said: ‘Uncomfortable. I’m guessing it means there’s going to be something bad along the way.

And she was certainly right about that because VIP actually stood for Very Isolated People in this scenario!

She added: ‘I am equal parts flattered and unnerved the public voted for me to be a VIP… I’m guessing they know more of what that entails than I do. I’m hoping it will be a nice thing but I have a feeling it might not be.’

Olivia later appointed Chris as her plus one to share a delicious meal with.

However, it was a tough challenge for campmates Jill, Charlene and Babatúnde who were told they would have to ‘earn your food on your way in.’

The current season is set to be an explosive one as former Health Secretary Matt Hancock is believed to make his debut as a late arrival alongside comedian Seann Walsh.

The series is starting a few weeks earlier than normal – due to the FIFA World Cup which is being held in Qatar.

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
