Peter Kay surprised and delighted fans across the UK last night after announcing his first tour in 12 years, but not everybody is happy.
The comedian, 49, broke the news of his long-awaited return during an ad break in the middle of I’m A Celebrity’s big 2022 return.
When fans found out tickets were on sale on Saturday, Kay’s website had so many hits in the aftermath of the announcement that it temporarily crashed.
The tour will feature 22 dates across Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff, and Nottingham.
However, many fans in the south of England have been left disappointed that there are currently no plans for any performances in London.
One fan took to social media to say: ‘I’m patiently waiting for Peter Kay to announce a London tour date.’

A Twitter user said: ‘No London dates for Peter Kay’s new tour,’ accompanied by a video of Gemma Collins saying: ‘To be honest, I’m p***** off about it.’
Many fans from the north of England, however, took great delight from the situation, joking that Kay had deliberately ignored London.
One person said: ‘Peter Kay announcing no London dates is a flex that you’ve gotta respect really.’

Another social media user commented: ‘Peter Kay not doing London dates is a fantastic bit, you must respect it.’
However, some fans were more optimistic that London dates would eventually be announced, with gaps in Kay’s calendar apparently reserved for dates at the O2 Arena.
‘Surely Peter Kay will be doing part of his tour at the O2 London. According to the dates of his tour, there’s a few gaps where according to the O2 site, no events are scheduled so I’m optimistic,’ one said.
Kay had apparently been performing secret shows to smaller audiences at The Lowry in Salford Quays before the big announcement.
In October, news emerged that Kay had been gifting secret tickets to potential audience members who had to keep their phones locked away during the gig.

Someone who was there last month said: ‘It was the weirdest but best experience ever. He is just such a grounded fella. The gig was really raw and unpolished which was what made it so personal.’
Tickets will go on sale here on Saturday morning.
