Rapper Hurricane G – real name Gloria Rodriguez – has died at the age of 52.

The musician, who was best known for working with stars such as Diddy and Redman, is believed to have died on Sunday.

Domingo Padilla, who produced Hurricane G’s 1997 solo album All Woman, announced her death in an Instagram post while paying tribute to the late rapper.

‘R.I.P. to my good friend Hurricane G,’ he wrote.

‘Really sad news to get. I was blessed to know her and produce her debut album.

‘God bless her family and daughter.’

Padillo went on to reveal how he had ‘so many crazy stories’ about working with the late rapper, including how they recorded her debut album in his apartment.

Sharing fond memories, he continued: ‘Gloria was a really kind hearted funny person but when she was mad stay out her way…LOL. I saw her make a famous radio personality cry in a studio and when I drove Gloria home we argued about why she did that and she kept it real with me she said “Domingo that bi**h don’t fool me she is a 2 face”.”

‘Gonna miss speaking to her on the phone and hear her say “Domingo you got that funky a*s fire for me or what m**********r”… R.I.P Gloria “Hurricane G” Rodriguez.’

A cause of death has not been given.

Veteran rapper and producer Erick Sermon, who shares a daughter with Hurricane G, expressed his heartbreak over of the news.

He wrote: ‘My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends…. my oldest daughter’s mother passed away today.

‘#HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the Hiphop community. One of the first Puerto Rican female rappers, she paved the way.

‘She will be missed all around the world. I can’t believe this. Pray for us. Beautiful blessings.’

Hurricane G rose to fame as a member of Def Squad and featured on Redman’s 1992 single Tonight’s Da Night.

Her debut album included the hit lead single Somebody Else and reached the top 10 on Billboard’ hot rap singles chart.

The rapper also made an appearance on Diddy’s song P.E. 2000 in 1999 and released her final album, Mami & Papi, in 2013.
