After a tense semi-final, this year’s finalists have been revealed after Janusz narrowly missed his place.
The fabulous four were tasked to make mini charlottes in the signature challenge, although Abdul’s creation looked like a tiramuasu according to judge Paul Hollywood his hailed his flavours a ’10 out of 10.’
Prue Leith assigned the bakers to create four identical chocolate hazelnut and raspberry vertical tarts, which proved to be a head scratcher for the contestants, but Sandro used the opportunity to see if he could finally receive a handshake from Paul.
The showstopper involved putting out all the stops in a Sweedish patisserie, and Abdul’s ‘To The Stars’ creation was hailed ‘delicious’ by Paul and Prue, while Syabira’s DNA double helix masterpiece was ‘slightly chewy in the middle.’
While the final result came close, Abdul was crowned star baker, personal assistant Janusz was ultimately eliminated from the competition after a close call between him and Sandro.
Which means Syabira, Sandro and Abdul have sailed through to next week’s grand finale.
Speaking about his exit, Janusz said: ‘I am not upset, the best three bakers are left clearly.
‘It was the most amazing time with the most amazing people.’
Devastated fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment, with one writing: ‘Janusz might not be upset, but I am! Will miss his beautiful presence.’
‘So sad about this,’ another added.
‘Said Janusz was a finalist in episode one. He did himself proud & have loved watching his bake off journey over these past couple of months.’

‘That’s where I wanted to get too. Happy tears!’
