I’m a lingerie specialist – I tried the same size bras in multiple brands & styles, the difference was shocking

WHY does finding a comfortable bra that looks great feel like an impossible task for many women?

According to lingerie experts, you may be wearing the wrong cup size, band size, or style – and what’s right for you could vary between brands.

The team at Forever Yours Lingerie specializes in finding the perfect fit for everybody, which can be more challenging than it seems.

In a TikTok video, one of the store’s specialists showed that size isn’t the only thing that matters when you’re trying to find a comfortable, flattering bra.

To demonstrate, the stylist tried on the same size bra, but in nine different styles, each from a different brand.

She explained that her breasts are fuller at the bottom, wide-set, and exhibit “soft tissue,” whereas other people may have more firm breast tissue.

If you have soft breast tissue, she noted, one thing to stay away from is bras with molded cups, which can make breasts look uneven.

“Molded cups are not usually great for softer breasts,” read the caption. On-screen, the stylist pointed out the “overflow” at the top of each bra cup.

Another bra, in a bright-red fabric with sculpted, firm cups, had the same issue, but to an even higher degree.

“Hello quad boob!” the caption said. The stiff foam cups supported the stylist’s chest from the bottom, but left her “spilling out everywhere.”

When she tried on a spacer bra, made from a different kind of foam, the result was a much smoother look and a more comfortable fit.

Anyone with “softer breast types” should look for spacer bras in their size, the stylist recommended.

If you have trouble finding the right fit, there’s another comfy – and sexy – fabric to look out for.

“Stretch lace is phenomenal for soft tissue,” the expert wrote, modeling a sharp-looking bra that combined two different styles.

The hybrid bra provided more support on the bottom, while stretchy lace panels at the top of each cup kept spillover at bay.

Even when spillover up top isn’t a risk, there are other places to look out for fit issues.

Wearing a lacy sculpted bra, the stylist pointed out where the style was actually too large, barely touching her skin.

“Cups gapping at the bottom, but not too bad,” she wrote.

A different lacy bra had comfy mesh panels but squeezed her breasts out at the sides.

“Way too shallow for me,” the pro lamented. But that doesn’t mean the bra is totally off-limits. “Need to size up in the cup.”

This bra was too shallow but would fit well in a larger cup size, the stylist saidTikTok

She also tried on a dramatic plunge bra, which didn’t look quite as intended because of her wide-set breasts.

“Deep plunge is not the style for my breast type,” she wrote.
