Unless you’ve been hiding underneath a rock, you’ll have noticed that I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is back on screens for 2022.

The show kicked off on Sunday, November 6 this year, with the likes of Boy George, Mike Tindall, Charlene White and Jill Scott getting to grips with jungle life, enjoying the odd campsite rap, and taking on the famously challenging Bushtucker trials.

The show is on every night for the next few weeks – and features a mix of pre-recorded highlights from the last 24 hours in camp, along with live inserts from hosts Ant and Dec.

But while we get to see it at (typically) 9pm every night, just what time is it in Australia when it’s filmed?

Here’s what you need to know.

What is the time difference between the UK and Australia?

The time difference between the UK (GMT) and Australia varies.

In Brisbane, Australia, they are 10 hours ahead of the UK (GMT+10) – while in Sydney and Canberra, they are 11 hours ahead (GMT+11), but Perth is just six hours ahead (GMT+6).

There are actually five time zones in Australia, and the time differences can vary a bit based on daylight savings.

However, for the purposes of finding out about the times regarding I’m A Celebrity, the difference between the UK and the area of Australia where you’d find the jungle is 10 hours.

By time the show airs in the UK around 9pm, it’s already tomorrow morning in the jungle.

Fortunately, it’s easy to tell what time it is in the jungle, as there is a clock onscreen during live elements of the show. It’s normally just after 7am when Ant and Dec introduce the episode.

Where is I’m A Celebrity filmed?

The show is filmed inside the Springbrook National Park near Murwillumbah in New South Wales.

The park is about 100km away from the city of Brisbane in Queensland.

The series has been filmed there since its second series back in 2003, with the first having been shot in the Queensland city of Cairns.

While viewers might only see the camp, the bridges, and Ant and Dec’s studio, there’s a whole HQ out there, which also includes an on-site medical facility and a space for props storage.

There’s even an area for friends and family of the celebs to gather on the morning of each eviction.

What time do they film in the I’m A Celebrity jungle?

As the show features highlights from camp throughout the day and night, we don’t always know the exact times each segment is filmed.

Much of the action is filmed during the day (general camp activities and challenges) and evening (when the campmates receive dinner) in Australia, meaning that the goings-on you see onscreen will have happened overnight or in the evening UK time.

It also means that the results of Bushtucker trial votes and elimination votes are revealed to the camp first thing in the morning. It’s not entirely clear how long the celebs have between finding out they have been chosen for a trial and actually doing it.

I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV tonight at 9.15pm (usually airing at 9pm).
