WWE superstar R-Truth has confirmed he is undergoing surgery to repair his squad after suffering a painful injury last week.
The 50-year-old wrestler veteran took a nasty fall on last week’s episode of NXT during a bout against rising star Grayson Waller which caused the match to be stopped live on air, and now he has opened up about the extent of the injury.
The former 24/7 Champion – whose real name is Ron Killings – was aiming for a dive to the outside on his opponent, but appeared to catch himself on the top rope and didn’t land right.
Truth immediately grabbed his leg, with the referee and medics ruling him unable to continue as the match got abruptly halted, and he has given fans an updated as he waited to go in for surgery.
‘Hey, hey, hey, what’s up? Hey y’all, first off, I wanna think each and every one of you for y’all for y’all concerns, y’all get wells, y’all prayers, y’all support,’ he said in a video on Twitter.
Joking that he’d found his ‘kryptonite’, he continued: ‘I did tear my quad tendon, and I’m at surgery now as we speak… I’ll be going in, so yeah. It is what it is, right? You gotta know I’ll be back.’
Truth thanked fans again for their support throughout his career, and promised to be back in the ring as soon as possible.
He smiled: ‘I gotta thank you. Without you, ain’t no me. So let me go in here and handle this business, because I’ll be back before y’all know it. Peace.’

The wrestler even suggested he could keep track of his road to recovery, as he tweeted alongside the clip: ‘Thank you to Each and every one of you!!! I might turn this into a documentary.’
Fellow wrestler Nikki Cross seems to approve of the idea, as the Raw star – who actually threw the 24/7 Title in the trash after winning the gold on this week’s episode – replied: ‘You should !!!! Send you all the postive vibes! We all missed you ! Sending you the best for surgery and recovery (sic)’
Meanwhile, a fan tweeted: ‘You got this Ron! Happy to see you in positive spirits, sending good vibes & continued prayers during your process to recovery!’
And referencing his recent WWE Main Event appearances with Shelton Benjamin, another added: ‘Here’s to a full and speedy recovery. Can’t wait for you to come back and resume teaming with Shelton Benjamin. You two over the past month were gold.’
WWE NXT airs Tuesday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
