A close friend of Boy George has shared when he expects the singer to confront Matt Hancock to voice his feelings on I’m A Celebrity… and reckons the tense chat could take place extremely soon.

On last night’s episode, the former health secretary and comedian Seann Walsh officially arrived in the jungle, joining the other celebrities in the main camp while also carrying out secret ‘mole’ missions.

While some of the campmates were friendly when greeting the politician, George couldn’t hide his feelings, confiding in Scarlette Douglas how upset he felt after fearing he was going to lose his mum during lockdown.

‘You know, beginning of the pandemic my mum was in hospital. I wasn’t allowed to see her. I thought she was going to die,’ he told the A Place In the Sun presenter.

While George’s mum was ‘fine’ in the end, the Culture Club musician added: ‘It’s difficult for me because, you know, had something happened, if my mum had gone, I wouldn’t be here now. I would have gone when he walked in.’

On Thursday’s Lorraine, DJ Fat Tony (real name Tony Marnach) spoke to Lorraine about how he expects George to react in the coming days to Mr Hancock, stating: ‘People are finding this hard to watch because of the situation that they went through. Lockdown was really an awful time for so many people because we were powerless.

‘And George is powerless in there as well because he’s in a situation with somebody of that magnitude of dislike to a nation and what Matt Hancock stands for… to be put into a confined space. The jungle sounds like a big space – it’s not a big space.’

The DJ insisted that what we saw of the Karma Chameleon singer last night ‘was George being George’, adding that ‘those tears were real’.

‘I’d give it two to three days before he has to express his feelings to Matt Hancock,’ he hypothesised.

Tony remarked that several of the celebrities are ‘walking on eggshells’, while ‘George is one of these people that doesn’t harbour’.

‘He will voice it first of all to a few people, and then he’ll go and confront him. It’s the way he’ll do it,’ he said.

The campmate’s friend guessed that George won’t confront Mr Hancock in a ‘nasty’ way, but will instead spark an ‘intelligent’ conversation.

Meanwhile, the DJ also urged members of the public to stop voting for the politician to do Bushtucker Trials, so as to not give him any more airtime.

Tonight, the MP is taking on his second trial – the Tentacles of Terror – which will see him be submerged under water while attempting to win stars for camp and dealing with various underwater critters.

As time goes on, the airhole at the top of the octopus-shaped container becomes smaller, as co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly watch from the sidelines.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV. I’m A Celebrity returns tonight at 9pm on ITV.
