Seann Walsh addressed his Strictly Come Dancing scandal on tonight’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and admitted that apologising for cheating on live television was the ‘worst moment of my life’.

The comedian, who entered the jungle on Wednesday night alongside former health secretary Matt Hancock, had already been mocked by presenters Ant and Dec for his affair.

However, in this evening’s scenes, he sat down with Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver to discuss the situation himself.

Of course, many will remember how Walsh hit the headlines in 2018 when he was photographed kissing his married Strictly dance partner Katya Jones while he was also in a relationship with his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.

Sue asked: ‘Why did that crucify you? Why did that have such an impact?’

‘To be totally honest with you, my poor ex, my girlfriend at the time, posted a statement,’ Walsh replied, referring to the statement in which Humphries claimed his behaviour was controlling.

‘My girlfriend [at the time] posted a statement and that was the end of me.’

Seann added: ‘I said sorry. I sat on Jonathan Ross’s TV show and apologised. I sat next to will.i.am and Samuel L. Jackson and apologised. That will forever be the weirdest moment of my life and I have to say probably the worst moment of my life.’

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Walsh went on to express his sincere apologies before sharing his hopes of moving past the scandal.

‘That’s something in my life that I don’t want to go back to,’ he said.

Here’s Rebecca Humphries’ statement in full

‘Hello there, my name is Rebecca Humphries and I am not a victim. I wasn’t sure whether to respond to events from the past week, but I feel the narrative has missed a couple of crucial elements that I would like to clear up.

‘It’s incredibly good of Sean(n) and Katya to apologise in the media. I have received nothing, other than the support of my family, friends and a host of strangers on the internet who all wanted to make sure I was OK. What I have also kindly received are many offers to sell my side of the story, but I would prefer for it to be on my own terms.

‘Those pictures were taken on October 3rd. It was my birthday. I was alone at home when Sean texted at 10pm saying the two of them were going for one innocent drink. ‘We spoke and I told him, not for the first time, that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on.

‘He aggressively, and repeatedly, called me a psycho/nuts/mental. As he has done countless times throughout our relationship when I’ve questioned his inappropriate, hurtful behaviour.

‘But – this whole business has served to remind me that I am a strong, capable person who is now free; and no victim. I have a voice and will use it by saying this to any woman out there who deep down feels worthless and trapped with a man they love.

‘Believe in yourself and your instincts. It’s more than lying. It’s controlling. Tell some very close friend who, if they’re anything like my wonderful network, will swoop in and take care of the logistics and of you.

‘It’s important also to recognise that in these situations those who hold power over you are insecure and fragile, and their need for control comes from a place of vulnerability. I think it certainly does in Sean’s case.

‘Despite everything, I hope he gets what he wants from this. I’m not sorry I took the cat though. Love, Rebecca.’

‘Obviously, I knew it would come up. They come up so naturally here. I just want to move on. It’s really nice to have people that will listen and are so lovely and wonderful.

‘I just want to be clear in that I’m very sorry about what happened and I really want this to be a positive experience and it really has been. I want to come out of here and move forward.’

And it seems as though Cleaver was rather sympathetic to Walsh’s situation. ‘He’s a lovely lad,’ she said in the Bush Telegraph.

‘He’s a sensitive soul, very sensitive soul. He’s been through the ringer the last three years. I think he’s really brave and I’m glad he’s here.’

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Friday at 9pm on ITV.
