Jason Momoa needed no invitation to take his clothes off as he stripped down to a traditional Hawaiian Malo in a new interview.

The 43-year-old was appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his new flick, Slumberland, on Wednesday.

After discussing his adorable new pig, talk turned to a photo of the Aquaman actor in very little clothing while on a fishing trip for an upcoming project.

As you do.

Discussing the outfit, he took the opportunity to tell the host that he was actually wearing a ‘traditional Malo, it’s what the Hawaiians wear.’

‘I’m doing a show. I’m a creator and writer and director and producer and actor on this Apple series called Chief of War,’ he said. ‘And it’s all 1780s, 1790s Hawaii.

‘That’s what I wear every day. I was just getting ready for the role because I like to get into character and so I was tanning my white ass.’

‘I like to go fishing but we never dress like this…,’ the host joked. ‘That’s something. And that’s comfortable?

Jason continued: ‘Oh, my God, yes! I actually don’t even like wearing clothes anymore. I’m in it every day. I wear it all the time.’

When asked if he was wearing the outfit under his clothes, he said: ‘Of course,’ to huge applause.

Without skipping a beat, Jason promptly stood up and removed his clothes, proudly showing off his body-baring look.

Jimmy fanned himself with a piece of paper, before joking: ‘Let me tell you, I never felt more like Danny DeVito than I do right now.’

Jason will be on our screens again very shortly with his new film, Slumberland, which is released in select cinemas before arriving on Netflix.

In the flick, he plays Flip, a loveable, eccentric outlaw who takes Nemo (Marlow Barkley) – and her beloved pig – under his wing when she loses her dad at sea.

‘Her new school and new routine are challenging by day but at night, a secret map to the fantastical world of Slumberland connects Nemo to Flip, a rough-around-the-edges but lovable outlaw who quickly becomes her partner and guide.

‘She and Flip soon find themselves on an incredible journey traversing dreams and fleeing nightmares, where Nemo begins to hope that she will be reunited with her father once again.’

Slumberland is released in select cinemas on November 11, before arriving on Netflix shortly after.
