Get your deduction skills in gear for this adaptation of Agatha Christie’s great Miss Marple whodunnit featuring ex-Corrie star Susie Blake as the St Mary Mead sleuth and a cast of suspects including Sophie Ward, of Holby City fame, and Strictly winner Joe McFadden.

Until Saturday, Theatre Royal Norwich; Monday until November 19, Malvern Theatres; then touring.

If you’re after a night of high glamour, then head to picturesque restaurant-theatre The Mill in Sonning, Berkshire, which is putting on this swish Hollywood golden age musical again after it proved a hit on its original run last year.

Mrs Warren’s Profession

It’s a real family affair in this new production of George Bernard Shaw’s drama about a brothel owner, as the great Caroline Quentin stars as the redoubtable title character alongside her own daughter Rose.

Until November 19, Theatre Royal Bath, then touring.

David Tennant makes a welcome return to the stage in this revival of C.P. Taylor’s bracingly dark moral drama about a professor in 1930s Germany who succumbs to, and becomes a cog within, the Nazi regime.

Until December 24, Harold Pinter Theatre, London.
