Steven Bartlett is not the biggest supporter of Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent interview with Piers Morgan, in which he criticised his club, Manchester United.

In the explosive TalkTV chat, the footballer blasted manager Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s board and the standards of the club.

Since the first quotes from their interview landed on Sunday night, it’s been suggested Cristiano may face a £1million fine for his comments, which Man United have not yet responded to.

Dragon’s Den star Steven – who’s been a supporter of the club since he was a child – has responded to the interview, though, slamming the footballer’s comments as an ‘utterly disgraceful way to behave’ and shared his desire for Cristiano to never walk onto the club’s ground again.

‘Which club is going to want to sign Ronaldo now? Which manager is going to want to deal with him?’ Steven wrote on Twitter following the headline-grabbing chat. ‘Utterly disgraceful way to behave.’

The Diary Of A CEO podcast host added: ‘I hope the United fan base get behind the team and the manager now and I hope Ronaldo never comes near Old Trafford again.’

Which club is going to want to sign Ronaldo now?

Which manager is going to want to deal with him?

Utterly disgraceful way to behave.

I hope the United fan base get behind the team and the manager now and I hope Ronaldo never comes near Old Trafford again.

He went on to say that while ‘there is deep systemic work to be done at Manchester United…now is not the time to be publicly attacking the manager, the club and everything in-between, just because you’re dissatisfied with your personal situation.’

Steven wrote: ‘This is not the conduct of someone who wants the “club to succeed”.

‘This is the conduct of someone who only cares if they succeed.’

Cristiano, 37, went nuclear during an interview with Piers, which came just hours after United’s morale-boosting 2-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The footballer had missed the victory through illness, having also been absent for the Carabao Cup win against Aston Villa on Thursday.

The Portugal captain was desperate to leave the club last summer but was denied his wish and he’s been forced to play second fiddle to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial so far this term.

The club have so far refused to comment on his interview but it will be viewed dimly, particularly as Ten Hag spoke about the ‘togetherness’ at the club following the win against Fulham.

Cristiano has likely played his last game for the club and he could be released before the January transfer window.

Club supporter Steven previously said he wanted to be part of a consortium to buy Manchester United, noting he was unhappy with how the club had been run.

He was quoted by MailOnline as saying: ‘I would definitely be interested in joining a consortium at some point to be involved in the club.

‘I don’t actually have a particular view on the [owners] Glaziers but I do think the management of the club over the past decade has been less than satisfactory.’
