Actor John Aniston, who was also father to Jennifer Aniston, has died at the age of 89.

The Friends actress announced the news that her dad died on Friday by sharing a a string of photos of the pair of them throughout their lives, from when Jennifer was a baby to the present day.

She penned in a heartbreaking tribute: ‘Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston ⁣

‘You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less!

‘You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now 🕊️I’ll love you till the end of time💔⁣
⁣
‘Don’t forget to visit 💫🤗❤️.’

Aniston was best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on Days Of Our Lives, a role he started playing in 1985 and continued for more than three decades.

Earlier this year, he received a Daytime Emmy lifetime achievement award.

Aniston’s first acting role was in 1962 in the series 87th precinct.

As well as his role on Days of Our Lives, which he also received a Daytime Emmy nomination for in 2017, Aniston has appeared on shows including Search For Tomorrow, from 1980 to 1984, Star Trek: Voyager in 2001, and The West Wing in 2002.

He went on to make appearances in beloved shows including Gilmore Girls in 2002, and Mad Men in 2010.
