Morrissey has left fans puzzled and disappointed after walking off stage and cancelling his LA gig midway through.
The Smiths star was about 30 minutes into his show at the Greek Theatre on Saturday night when he suddenly left the stage after performing his song Girlfriend in a Coma.
A bandmate then told the crowd: ‘Sorry, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the show is not going to continue. Very sorry. We’ll see you next time.’
No official reason has been given for his sudden departure, with fans speculating on social media.
One wrote: ‘Summary of morrissey concert: he came out in a t shirt of himself, smoked a cig on stage, sang 5 songs, and then ended the concert. my mom WARNED ME.’
Another said: So, #Morrissey just walked off the stage at @Greek_Theatre after 30 min. Apparently he was too cold. Meanwhile, it’s in the 50s.’

‘At the @officialmoz concert right now in LA. Morrissey just walked off and the show was canceled 30 minutes into the set. Anyone know why?’ one more added.
Others have defended the star, with one writing: ‘I think it’s absolutely right that a man in his 60’s makes his health & well-being a priority, even if it means rescheduling a show. Sad that so many people that are apparently big enough fans to go to a Morrissey show are angry at him for the unforgivable crime of being human.’
Another added: If a sportsperson gets injured & goes off the pitch, people are sympathetic. If a singer is unwell – throat or vocal issues – and goes off stage – some people are apoplectic with rage. From footage I’ve seen #Morrissey was clearly struggling during his @Greek_Theatre set.’
Morrissey is due to play El Cajon in California on Monday and Tuesday night, before playing a show in Oakland on Friday.
He will then head to Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington DC, and New York City as he continues his US tour.
The music icon is then set to play his second Las Vegas residency.
The singer, 62, will play five dates at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace this summer, and fans are buzzing.
This will be his second run in Vegas after performing a series of dates in summer 2021, which were originally postponed due to Covid.
He joins the likes of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and, most recently, Katy Perry, in making megabucks from a Vegas residency, with his titled Viva Moz Vegas.
