Olivia Attwood has revealed talks for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! started five years ago, so she’s struggling to tune in after being robbed of the experience.

Last week, the Love Island star was forced to leave the jungle after just 24 hours over health concerns from the show’s medical team, and she admitted taking part in the ITV reality show is something she’s been wanting ever since she left the villa.

Noting she’s has been ‘a big fan of the show all my life’, she told This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: ‘Those conversations started from the first year I left Love Island, so it’s been five years in the making.’

It means Olivia is struggling to tune in after missing out on the experience at such short notice, and she added: I’m not watching, watching. I did find it sad, I had FOMO.’

The star keen to get a second chance in camp if she can find some time in between her documentaries and other commitments.

‘I daren’t even approach that question yet because I think it would be a logistical thing,’ she said on Monday’s episode of This Morning. ‘I would want to because I was absolutely loving it… It was cut short, wasn’t it?’

While she initially focused on shutting down certain rumours, she has gone onto address why she was no longer in the jungle.

After teasing that the ‘truth’ would come out, we know that the 31-year-old was rushed to A&E by ITV staff after ‘routine blood tests’ showed her to be ‘dangerously anaemic’, while her sodium and potassium levels were ‘worryingly low’.

‘I was so scared, I was like “what the hell is wrong with me?”‘ she told the Daily Mail, adding that despite her blood tests being ‘fine’ when she had them done in England, her results were ‘really, really low’.

During the journey to the hospital, Olivia added that she was worried about being pregnant, or concerned that she had picked up a virus, and she described the experience as ‘absolutely frightening’.

ITV bosses weren’t happy to let her back into the jungle after the health scare, despite the hospital giving her the all clear.

‘They feared my levels might drop and it could be detrimental to my health and wellbeing,’ Olivia added. ‘I was absolutely devastated. I’m not a crier but I started to cry, it was so emotional.

‘I was heartbroken and gutted. I tried to keep my emotions in check and keep it in perspective, things could be so much worse.’

On Thursday a statement confirmed that Olivia had not left ‘due to Covid reasons’, after an earlier statement said how ‘heartbroken’ she was to have to bow out.

‘She dreamed of doing I’m A Celebrity for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would),’ the first one said.

‘However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.’

It went on to say that people would ‘hear the truth from Olivia in due course’.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
