I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Chris Moyles has been speaking out about his time as a presenter on BBC Radio One.
The Radio DJ landed in the jungle alongside the likes of Charlene White, Mike Tindall and Matt Hancock in November to compete in the 2022 series, the first to take place in Australia since 2019.
Naturally, while not facing the terrors of Bushtucker Trials, the former Chris Moyles Show presenter has been chatting with his fellow campmates about his life and career, and recently spoke about the controversial ending to his time on the station.
He had made a major name for himself alongside former friend and colleague David Vitty, aka Comedy Dave, though the pair appear to have not spoken in many years.
But as Chris opens up about his time on the station on I’m A Celeb, fans have questions – so, when did Chris Moyles leave BBC Radio One and what has he done since?

Chris Moyles first joined as a presenter on BBC Radio One in 2004, and hosted shows on the popular station until 2012, including the coveted Breakfast Show and The Chris Moyles Show.
He was replaced by Nick Grimshaw, despite having reportedly signed a contract a year previously which would have kept him on the station until 2014.

Chris didn’t exactly leave BBC Radio One on good terms, and opened up about his departure on an episode of I’m A Celeb where he claimed to fellow campmate Matt Hancock the station had handled it ‘badly.’
He said: ‘I knew that Radio One, it’s a conveyor belt. And you might be there for a year, or you might be there for 15 years, but you’re going to fall off the end at some point.’
‘I went in with my agent, we sit down and [a Radio One boss] says “look this isn’t very easy, I think it’s time we wrap the show up, we’re going to announce on the news that Nick Grimshaw is taking over.
‘And my agent was like “that’s out of order.”‘
‘I said to the boss, you can’t do that, after 15 years you can’t do that, and we need to work out what’s happening.
‘They announced it that Nick was taking over, but they gave us three months to say goodbye.’
When asked how he felt about the move, he added: ‘I was a bit cross after I left… They handled it so badly, so badly.’
