Anais Gallagher – daughter of Oasis legend, Noel Gallagher and Meg Mathews – proved she could stand on her own two feet as she lent her voice to an upcoming anti-animal cruelty campaign.
The model took part in advocating against petfishing and encouraged her social media followers to PAWS for Thought and double check breeding credentials before buying a new furry friend.
Sharing how animals affected her own childhood experience, Anais told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’ve always been a huge animal lover, since the moment I can remember.
‘I was brought up with lots of animals around me, my mum’s a huge advocate for animals.
‘And as I grew up, I just wanted to do as much as I could to use my platform and my voice to help them.’
Reminiscing over where her initial flare for activism came from, she credited her mum, Meg Mathews, nineties icon and former music industry exec.
Anais revealed her house was full of animals growing up, especially dogs like Ziggy

The starlet’s mum was passionate about animal advocacy and made sure her daughter was well educated on the subject
‘She was always quite vocal with me about how different people may be treating their animals.
‘My mum was always the kind of woman at the park that would tell someone off when she thought they were being mean to their dog.
She continued: ‘It’s strange, isn’t it? Because to me, animal cruelty is so alien that I can’t even begin to think about how somebody could do it.
‘But my mum was always trying to educate me.’

The budding photographer went on to share details of how her relationship with Dorset-based chef, Julius Roberts, allows her the opportunity to get even closer with animals.
She said: ‘My boyfriend runs a small holding in Dorset and the opportunity to be able to be around lots of animals of different species, whether it’s chickens or goats or sheep, has been a huge eye opener with how intelligent and how loving all species are. It’s not just dogs and cats, or horses in my case.
‘I just feel really, really privileged to be able to spend so much time with animals. I’m very thankful for him for that.’
Leveraging her status as a famous offspring for good, she shared guidelines and advice on how people can avoid being pet-fished and make sure they aren’t feeding into bad breeding practices.
Anais’s tips to escape petfishing traps:
Make sure that when you’re buying a puppy, you definitely see the puppies mum and the condition that it was kept in because I think that is a really, really big eye opener into how its health conditions going to be in the future.
Or if it’s the sort of breeding you want to be giving money to and want to be encouraging.
Growing up as the prodigy of two megastar, Anais admitted she worried people may assume she’s ‘bratty’ or ‘spoiled’.
Dispelling the misconception, the 22-year-old explained: ‘I think the biggest misconception people have with me is that I wouldn’t be that kind.
‘I always strive to be generous and kind and loyal friend and stranger’.
The Paws For Thought campaign is backed by Burns Pet Nutrition and Admiral Pet Insurance for and aims to encourage potential pet owners to do their research before buying a puppy or kitten.
