Apex Legends fans seem to be switching to Call Of Duty, as the game’s Twitch audience has increased dramatically in the last few weeks.

It looks like 2022 is going to be Call Of Duty’s year, as not only has Modern Warfare 2 proven to be a commercial success, but Warzone 2 also keeps adding to the battle royale side of things.

Apex Legends’ Season 15 has added a new map, called Broken Moon, and defensive legend Catalyst to the rotation but it might not be enough to keep fans watching on Twitch.

One person who definitely won’t be making the switch any time soon is Nickmercs, who openly dismissed Warzone 2 in favour of Apex Legends, as he claimed ‘it doesn’t show promise.’

Although Warzone 2 has had its fair share of criticisms, it’s still Apex Legends’ main competitor, so there won’t be a fuller picture of how well-liked it is until a few weeks after launch.

So far, data shows that Modern Warfare 2 seems to have taken viewership away from Apex, as streamers choose to play less of Respawn’s battle royale.

According to AlphaIntel, Apex Legends’ average viewership on Twitch has dropped to its lowest level in two years.

Overwatch 2’s launch also seems to have contributed to Apex’s decreasing viewership figures, even though their gameplay styles are totally different from each other.

Apex Legends’ average viewership on Twitch has dropped to its lowest level in 2 years, since October 2020.

New games like OW2 & MW2 are grabbing people’s attention, and some streamers are playing less Apex – let’s hope Apex can bring it back soon 🙏 pic.twitter.com/MFjVpSrcq3

This month has also seen a bunch of new titles hitting the market, such as the highly anticipated God Of War Ragnarök, so, it’s not surprising to see people taking the time to explore them.

In fact, Ragnarok has dominated streaming charts in the last seven days, only coming in second to the Just Chatting category on Twitch.

However, FIFA 23 remains below Apex Legends in this case, despite having launched its World Cup mode only a few days ago. Though it’s not a super popular streaming choice, you could see its viewership numbers changing soon as the IRL World Cup kicks off in Qatar at the end of November.

Apex Legend’s current season is set to be the longest one yet, since it starts on November 1 and concludes on Valentine’s Day in February 2023. Usually, each season lasts around three months.

However, there will be a collection event and a Christmas special soon on Apex Legends, with the Winter Express possibly returning for a few rounds around World’s Edge.

Hopefully, the long wait will also help developers solve some of Apex Legend’s main problems, such as its unfair matchmaking process and increasing cheater problem…
