Matt Hancock has been making quite the bid for public sympathy during his I’m A Celebrity stint as he told fellow contestants that he just wants ‘a bit of forgiveness’.

However, viewers haven’t taken too kindly to his pleas and pictures have since emerged of a plane flying over the celebrity campsite with a banner saying ‘Covid bereaved say get out’.

People on Twitter are also calling for the MP to leave – while Ofcom has been hit with almost 2,000 complaints after allowing him to become a contestant.

It’s alleged that ITV producers are already preparing for Hancock’s exit.

Reports claim that his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo has flown to Australia, ready to greet him on the world-famous rope bridge, but how much longer will she have to wait?

Is Matt Hancock still on I’m A Celebrity?

As of today, November 16, Matt Hancock is still thought to be in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The 44-year-old MP recently won the title of camp leader over former rugby player Mike Tindall, much to the other contestants’ dismay.

The public aren’t letting him off easy however and he’s done six Bushtucker trials since he’s been on the show, only getting a reprieve in recent days.

Those trials have seen him face bugs, critters, deep water, snakes and the infamous eating trial, as he attempts to notch up stars for the camp’s meals.

How many days has Matt Hancock been in the jungle?

Following the controversy surrounding his appearance on the show, Hancock joined the jungle as a late arrival, at the same time late alongside comedian Seann Walsh.

The pair walked in together last Tuesday, November 8 – their arrival being seen on screen on Wednesday 9 – after sharing an arrival challenge which saw the MP squirming in a tunnel full of critters.

Matt Hancock was the reason a had to identify my partner’s body alone, barely managed to pull a funeral together and even then a couldn’t have the support next to me whilst saying goodbye to the love of my life. Yet the man is the jungle having a laugh about it all. Sound 👍🏻

Today marks Hancock’s ninth day on I’m A Celebrity but it could well be one of his last, since voting for the show’s first eliminations has now officially opened.

When is the first I’m A Celebrity Elimination?

Since voting has now opened, it’s likely that the show’s first elimination will be at some point this week.

Sources suggest it could happen as soon as Friday, November 18.

Matt could of course be the first one to be voted out – although with his odds of being crowned king of the jungle dropping by the day there’s a possibility we’ll have to put up with him for a while longer.

According to Ladbrokes, he’s now just 8-1 to be crowned series champion behind Jill Scott, Mike Tindall and Owen Warner.

I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV tonight at 9pm.
