I’m A Celebrity 2022 is chugging along nicely, with all the bugs, trials, and controversy you could ever need.
And much of it has centred around the appearance of Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who has taken on trial after trial in camp while attempting to explain his behaviour during the pandemic – although that hasn’t stopped him from being confronted by some of his campmates,
Hancock appears to be on a quest for forgiveness on the ITV reality show after his affair with Gina Coladangelo was exposed, forcing him to resign after being deemed to break his own government’s Covid-19 restrictions.
But, who is Gina Colangelo, when did their affair begin, and who is Hancock’s ex-wife?

Coladangelo was hired as Hancock’s aide during his tenure as Health Secretary. At the time their affair began, Coladangelo was also married to Oliver Tress, who currently owns fashion retail business Oliver Bonas.
She was forced to resign from her position upon Hancock’s resignation, but the couple remain together as of November 2022.
It’s believed they have known each other for some time, since they worked together on student radio at Oxford University,
Coladangelo has reportedly been given regular updates on his progress in the jungle, and has flown to Australia to be waiting for him on the other side of the bridge when his time on I’m A Celebrity comes to an end, whether he’s evicted or crowned King of the Jungle.

‘That’ll be the best thing about being kicked out, seeing her on the bridge,’ he said when the news was revealed.
Hancock also revealed that he thought of her to get through his sixth consecutive Bushtucker trial,, as he faced snakes in an underground pit.
‘I thought of my children, I thought of Gina, I thought of everybody I loved. I just tried to be calm,’ he explained.

The pair’s affair was exposed in June 2021, when CCTV footage from a corridor of a government building was leaked to the media. It wasn’t long before Hancock was forced to resign from his position as Health Secretary.
However, the incident captured by the CCTV footage had taken place in May 2021. This was during a period when Covid-19 restrictions were still in place and people were banned from hugging people from other households.
It’s not clear when the affair began, but both Hancock and Coladangelo separated from their respective partners and have continued their relationship ever since.

Hancock’s ex-wife is Martha Millar. The couple married in 2006 and had three children during their 15 years together. They met while studying together at Oxford University – Hancock also met Coladangelo around this time.

Her great-grandfather, Frederick Millar, was a Baron and British diplomat who served as an an ambassador to West Germany during the early days of the Cold War.
In her personal life, Millar has pursued a career in health and alternative medicine. She became an osteopath some years after studying with Hancock at Oxford.
