I’m a size 16 – I carry most of my weight in my belly and SKIMS shapewear has a surprising effect on my stomach area

A SIZE 16 TikToker tried on Skims shapewear to see how it fit on her body and said it had a surprising effect on her stomach area.

Cinphotos is a photographer who has over 66,000 followers on TikTok where she usually shares her shopping hauls and images from photoshoots she’s done.

In some of her recent videos, however, she has also done try-on hauls for several shapewear and athletic wear brands.

Most recently, she tried on Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand, Skims.

“I’ll be comparing two different Skims shapewear and one Amazon dupe,” she said.

She started off the review by showing off how her body looks without the shapewear on.

“I, personally, hate seeing my belly or panty lines through outfits, so I am really interested to see how they all compare,” she said.

“I’m roughly a size 16 and because I do have PCOS, most of my weight is in my lower belly.”

The first product is the Skims Solution Short #2, which is best to wear with skirts or dresses that have a high slit.

The TikToker ordered the item in a size 2X/3X in the color umber.

“I do wish the waistband was wider or had a second layer because these kept falling down.”

She said she saw a noticeable difference in how her clothes fit her with the shapewear on but said that the band was so tight that it made a crash in the fabric higher up than it would naturally go.

The next item was the Skims Sculpting Bodysuit Mid Thigh With Open Gusset.

“I do feel like this one is visibly smoothing but I don’t know that I necessarily feel snatched,” she said.

“I also felt I had to fight for my life to put it on but maybe it was worth it.”

The poster said this item was so much more comfortable to wear than the shorts but she wished that it had a one-leg version so she could wear if under dresses.

Finally, she tried on an Amazon dupe that she purchased for $30 but is now listed on the website for $22.

“Although it doesn’t feel quite as suffocating, it almost gives off the exact same result.”

The Amazon dupe came in black and the poster admitted that black is slimming so she wondered if that had an effect on how she saw the item on her body.

“So tell me, did you notice a difference or are you just gonna buy the dupe?” she asked.

The video received hundreds of comments from viewers.

“I didn’t see a huge difference to make want to pay that price difference,” wrote one person. “Thanks for sharing!”

Another wrote: “I also have PCOS and carry my weight in the same place. This was super helpful for seeing how it would fit on my body type! Thanks!”

One person felt that the Skims “snatched” the poster better while another said, “Sold me on the Amazon dupe.”
